My Solo Camping

Camping is one of the most popular outdoor activities in the world. It's a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, reconnect with nature, and spend quality time with loved ones. Whether you're an experienced camper or a newbie, this beginner's guide will provide you with all the information you need to plan a successful camping trip. I will share my camping experience how I create content on YouTube. If you follow my YouTube channel, then you will know that I film solo, duo or group camping and ASMR content. Here I will try to explain how I make Solo Camping and create ASMR videos for my YouTube channel. There are certain things that you should consider before camping solo, especially those ASMR.

1 Destination

The first step to planning a camping trip is to choose your destination. Do you want to camp in the mountains, by the beach, or in a national park? Once you've decided on your destination, research the area to find the best camping spots. Look for campgrounds that offer amenities such as restrooms, showers, and fire pits. There can be many wildlife that can harm us or vice versa. Always ask the locals prior to staying and take precautions accordingly. You should also take into account whether you need natural wood for cooking or a campfire. A prior survey is therefore recommended.

When you arrive at your destination, you'll need to choose a campsite. Look for a spot that is level, dry, and free of debris. You should also consider the proximity to restrooms and other amenities. If you're camping in a national park, be sure to follow the rules and regulations for choosing a campsite.

2 Equipment

Before you leave for your camping trip, you'll need to gather your camping gear. This includes a tent, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, a cooler, a camp stove, and cooking utensils. You should also pack plenty of food, water, and clothing for the trip. If you're not sure what to bring, check with the campground or park ranger for a list of recommended gear.

There are two major types of equipment, filming gears, and camping gears. You can use even a Mobile camera to start creating content. But try to take good and sufficient lights with you which are required to film and work at night. Good lighting will also help create quality videos with less video noise. Make sure to bring all the essential accessories for filming with off-course the camera itself.

Double check the batteries, powerbank, charging cables, tripods, mobile and camera holders if any before a day. I have suffered several times in forgetting small but important props. And there are many for camping equipment like quality tent specially for winter and rain. Make sure to check specs of the tent before buying. There many types of tents like 3 season, 4 season etc.

Tent cloths also matter. Avoid canvas if you are a backpacker, hiker or plan to hike big mountains as canvas are very heavy and on the other hand if you do hot tent winter camping in snow, then canvas tents are more useful regardless of weight. Don't forget to take tent accessories like guy lines, pegs, ground sheets etc. Better if you keep organized everything in separate bags.

A good rain-fly tarp with some tarp poles are also recommended if you plan camp in rainy season. Then choose some lightweight sleeping mat and bags. Preferably inflatable mat is good to keep. For sleeping bags, I would recommend less than a kilogram that would be easy to transport. Now talking about transport, try to choose bags with near about 90 liters of space in volume to carry all your equipment. I would recommend a separate bag for filming gears.

Once you've chosen your campsite and gathered your gear, it's time to set up camp. Start by pitching your tent and laying out your sleeping bags and pads. Then, set up your camp stove and cookware, and start a fire in the fire pit (if allowed). Don't forget to store your food in a bear-resistant container, and keep a clean campsite to avoid attracting wildlife.

The best part of camping is exploring the outdoors. Take a hike, go fishing, or simply relax by the campfire. If you're camping in a national park, be sure to take advantage of ranger-led programs and guided hikes. Remember to leave no trace and follow the principles of outdoor ethics.

3 Weather

Camping can be a fun and rewarding experience, but it's important to stay safe. Be sure to follow all rules and regulations, including fire restrictions and camping bans. Keep a first-aid kit on hand and be prepared for emergencies. Finally, always let someone know your itinerary and expected return date.

Now to second list of this article is completely depends on this third point. You need to choose the gears I explained on the previous paragraph according to weather. Sometimes gears completely different or changed as per weather. I would never recommend to camp in extreme bad weather like heavy thunder and storm. Rain and snow are okay season wise. Always check your local weather forecast in different apps and sites before going to camping.

Carry rainproof bags to protect all the gears specially the electronic ones from rain. Make sure to bring extra pegs, poles and guy lines to protect your shelter from high windy condition. Don't forget to take towel, shoes and a pair of extra cloths if you get wet in case. Though it is very tough to camp and film at the same time in heavy rain as I already have done videos on these. you can check out my YouTube Playlist how I do it.

One of the most important aspects of camping is leaving no trace. This means packing out all your trash, minimizing your impact on the environment, and respecting wildlife. Follow the seven principles of Leave No Trace: plan ahead and prepare, travel and camp on durable surfaces, dispose of waste properly, leave what you find, minimize campfire impact, respect wildlife, and be considerate of other visitors.

Conclusion

Camping is a fun and rewarding activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a little bit of planning and preparation, you can have a successful camping trip that you'll remember for years to come. Remember to choose your destination, pick the right campsite, gather your gear, set up camp, explore the outdoors, stay safe, and leave no trace. Happy camping!

As whole I would recommend watching a lot of videos not only mine but other tutorial and all before starting yours. There are many kinds of risks involve while filming content like these. Remember safety should be always your top priority. Follow your local guidelines before doing so. Never trespass anyone's place without permission. Learn a lot, try on your backyard first before going on an adventure. Hope I explained everything. Do share your thoughts on it. Happy camping!
